Island Falls Canoe is proud to build a classic cedar-canvas dinghy line. Our dinghies are made in the spirit of the early
1920’s Old Town yacht tenders and sailing dinghies which are proven to be exceptional
in design, durability and versatility.
We produce 7’6”, 9’, and 10’ models. All the dinghies are copper fastened red cedar planking over white
cedar frames. The hulls are covered with
Midwest duck canvas and filler in the traditional manner, with mahogany transom
and trim. Standard equipment includes bronze
transom handles, drain plugs, rope bumper trim, lifting rings, and patent swivel
oar locks.
Sailing versions include weighted centerboard, kick up rudder, bronze
blocks and a 45 or 56 sq. ft. standing lug rig with spruce spars.
