The Maine Islander is a unique craft developed from Mick Fahey's beautiful
and seaworthy square sterned freight canoe "Voyager". With a higher
slightly flared bow and dozens of other new features the wood and canvas hulled
Maine Islander is ideal for exploring any coast or shoreline in close. Weighing
under 600 lbs. And boasting an 18-foot waterline Islander is a spirited and
comfortable sailer before its lovely full battened gunter rig designed by marine
architect Dick Lagner. Islander's 7" draft with centerboard up and lightness
make her ideal for beaching and trailering. Built originally for low powered
outboard use exploring the islands and coves need not stop when the breeze fails.
