Even without its early origins and classic E.M. White features the 1889 would be an exciting canoe. This 15’ model has plenty of stability for tandem use, fly fishing, and even poling, yet is fast and responsive and is equally suitable for paddling solo. She has a lovely upswept sheerline, "tumblehome" sides and stylish reverse curves apparent at the decks and entries. To further bind the “1889” to her historic origins the model is available at extra cost with a package of options found exclusively on E.M. Whites earliest canoes. These include a D-shaped hand-caned stern seat, ribs that are thinned as well as tapered at the gunwales, and the signature rolled copper wrap-around stem bands. Accented by black cherry gunwales and trim the “1880 Classic” is a unique and stunning canoe. |
